Children - The Gallery - Week 43

This weeks theme for Tara Cain's The Gallery is "Children," which of course creates a huge scope. So I thought I would share this beautiful photo of when I was a ten year old. This was my recorder club, where for some reason I am posing with my clarinet. (I am the Asian one with the Linda McCartney mullet.)

I think we were an incredibly stylish bunch. I was wearing a blue jumper dress with my Mum's blouse for added pizazz and a hot emerald green socks and pointy blue shoes combo. Of course the winner in this photo is the curtains which take away the limelight from all of us.

What makes a Headhuntress?

Mutton dressed as spam.

Lone parent to three unique children, the talented twenty year old Zoe, the beautiful seventeen year old James who has ASD & ADHD and the most sorted little seven year old you could ever meet - Dylan (AKA Dizzy!).

Life was pretty much in the fast lane, until early 2015 when I was struck by an unknown neurological disorder that is highly affected by stress, leaving me wheelchair bound for six months. Even though life has had to slow down, I'm left with even more love and excitement for everything I do.

Passionate about fashion, equality, the paleoautoimmune protocol diet, fitness and travel.

Half head-hunter, vintage market owner, blogger & aspiring novelist. They say 'black don't crack' - neither does slightly yellowing.

Half Bidayuh, half British.

Headhuntress by ethnicity and background, nothing to do with recruitment.

So who are the Bidayuh? Bidayuh are one of the indigenous tribes of the rainforest in Sarawak, Borneo, the only place where orangutans live. The tribe were head-hunters not so long ago.

And who are the British? British people are a part of Europe but like to be apart from Europe, Great Britain, the only place where Mancunians are supposed to live. They wore bowler hats not so long ago.

Two very different cultures. Half this, half that. Half a spoon of tupenny rice and half a pound of treacle. Half foreign, half local. Half a lager, half cut. Sometimes half arsed but mostly a half wit.
